Morgan Heritage performed for the first time in the UK and brought
with them a new sound from an American cultural reggae band. Morgan
Heritage is a family group brought together by their father Denroy
Morgan. Denroy was the first reggae artist to sign with MCA and is
known for his album stand Firm.

The group is made up of Gramps (keyboards/vocals), Lukes (guitar) Peter
(lead vocals, Mr Mojo (percussion) and Judah (vocals/keyboards) the
only female in the group. They grew up in the states and all graduated
from high school and were influnced by alot of US singers such as
Lionel Ritchie, Bobby Brown, Janet Jackson & James Ingram these lead to
them to recording an R&B album and their deal with MCA.

It was not until 1992 when they decided to play authentic reggae, and
are now carrying the torch of Rastafari. In the summer of 1995 they
went to Jamaica to perform for the first time on Reggae Sumfest, and it
was on this occasion that they met Bobby Digital and later recorded
their hit Protect Us Jah. Morgan Heritage has an uplifting distinctive
rock.

"Music is a blessing and wherever it comes from we will use it, we read
a lot of newspapaers, watch the news, movies and read the bible. Every
morning we get up as a family and pray, we praise the Lord and give
thanks. We are a singing family that is where we get our strength, the
power to sing and play is truly a gift from God. Morgan Heritage have
come to deliver music in a spiritual way in the best way we can and the
lovers rock we sing is in an uplifting way, of the repairing of
relationship,  the deterioration of a family, that could also include
nations. Relationship are a natural thing, a sense of consciousness, a 
gift from the father."

The music industry must now recognise that music has come full circle
to the point where the influence of cultural music is again prominent
in the way people are thinking. Positive messages in the spiritual
sense. Morgan Heritage represents the family values that were lost and
can now be found in the harmony of his family unit.

There is a new day dawning and  1998 is the beginning of a more
conscious age, the release of the two albums from Morgan
Heritage-Protect Us Jah produced by Bobby Digital and One Calling
produced by King Jammy's both albums are highly explosive with
harmonies and musical style. Supporting Buju Banton on his Inner
Heights Tour. Morgan Heritage kept the fire burning, guiding the way
for Buju Bantons Inna Heights.
